Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 3.16 g, 10 h), a contemporary plated imitation, irregular mint, after circa 19 BC. [CAESAR] – AVGVSTVS Bare head of Augustus to left. Rev. SIGNIS - RECEPTIS Mars, helmeted and cloaked, standing facing, head to right, holding aquila in his right hand and signum in his left. Cf. BMC 414, Cohen 262 and RIC 82b (for prototype). Somewhat corroded and with breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
